School-Wide Contributions
Throughout my student teaching semester, I have found opportunities to contribute beyond the four walls of the classroom, supporting school culture and community through various initiatives. All spaces present a blank canvas for cultivating positive, inclusive and inspiring surroundings.
Our Caught Reading stairwell display was an initiative presented by our school principal, in alignment with the Toronto District School Board’s emphasis on establishing a “love of reading” and promoting literacy as a joyful, school-wide experience. I worked alongside my cooperating teacher, who holds the school’s Position of Responsibility (POR), building upon a lightly established vision to create handmade artwork and frames that showcase students as active members of a literacy-rich community.

Remembrance Day.
The Remembrance Day hallway display was designed with student reflection and utility in mind. Students contributed their reflections on peace and remembering those who have experienced war. Poppies were used during our school-wide assembly during the performance of In Flanders Fields by John McCrae.

Author's Corner
The Author’s Corner display was created to celebrate student writing and expression. Although in its initial stages at the time of this photo, this canvas served to dedicate space to showcase student-authored work in a highly frequented location.
For the school Halloween dance, I worked alongside students to design and hang decorations throughout the gymnasium. This collaborative effort helped transform the space into a welcoming and celebratory environment while giving students ownership over the event.
During my student teaching placement, I oversaw student council meetings and supported student leadership initiatives. As part of this work, I designed a Student Council Members poster featuring printed photographs of the elected team to celebrate student leadership.
Winter Festival
For the school’s Winter Festival, I designed and created a range of indoor decorations and helped transform the gymnasium into a festive, welcoming space. On the day of the event, I volunteered at the face-painting station, helping to create a joyful and inclusive atmosphere for students and their guests.
